2017 Review of Polling Districts, Places and Stations
Published by :Fife Council
This consultation is open.
Purpose of consultation
Fife Council is carrying out a review of its Polling Districts and Places. As part of this review, we are asking for views and comments from interested people and groups.
In terms of the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013, there is a requirement for all polling districts and polling places to be reviewed at least every four years.
All local authorities have to divide their area into polling districts for parliamentary election purposes, and to designate polling places for these polling districts. The aim of this review is to ensure that -
- all electors in each constituency have reasonable facilities for voting
- so far as is reasonable and practical, the polling places that councils are responsible for, are accessible to all electors. In considering suitable polling places, councils must ensure that they are accessible for people with disabilities
It is important to point out that this review does not cover -
- the boundaries or names of UK and Scottish parliamentary constituencies
- the borders and names of local authorities and electoral areas within local authorities
If you would like to find out about your Polling Place, please visit the Fife Direct website, specifically the summary publications accessible via the following link:-
You may respond to the consultation in writing, and/or provide your views on using Polling Places by completing a questionnaire, by Friday 27 October 2017. The questionnaire should take no longer than five minutes to complete.
