Due to a systems upgrade, our Online Planning System will be unavailable over the weekend of 14th and 15th April, with some possible disruption on Monday 16th April.
In advance of this downtime you can select up to 25 documents to download in one archive file at a time.
Any comments you wish to submit on an application during this time can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
From 1st April 2018, Fife’s Development Management team will be introducing a number of changes. We are encouraging all customers to use our online services. By using this method for both the submission and payment of applications it speeds up the process as well as removing any delays as we try to match payments with applications. More details on these changes are available under Planning Costs and How to Pay > Development Management Changes - from April 2018 (Publication)
Our pages are designed to help you through the planning application process.
To find out if you need planning permission we recommend that you read the information on our pages Do I Need Planning Permission. This provides details of the type of work that is permitted. Extra advice is available on the Scottish Government pages
You can carry out some development without the need for planning permission. For example, you may be able to build extensions, porches, sheds, garages, decking, fences and access ramps. There will still be certain restrictions relating to conservation areas and listed buildings. Even if planning permission is not required, there may be a need for a Building Warrant.
